Academic English for Postgraduate Research Writing

Outline

This course develops knowledge of the organization, style, grammar, vocabulary, expressions and conventions typical of English language dissertations, theses and research papers. It also develops the research writing skills required from the research proposal stage through to the final editing stages.

Students have the opportunity to receive detailed feedback on their work through an online research writing consultation.

This is a more advanced course than Academic English for Postgraduate Writing.

It is suitable for all postgraduates for whom English is an additional language and who are less familiar with the organisation, language and requirements of academic English language research papers.

This course can be followed in Semester 2, February to May or in the Summer Semester in June to July.
