Academic English Language Support

Research Writing Consultations

These consultations are available only to current Brookes students whose first language is not English and who are enrolled on the Academic English research writing course.

Postgraduates enrolled on the Academic Writing and Research Writing courses have online writing consultations as part of their course.

These one-one writing consultations are designed to support the writing skills of postgraduates who are in the process of completing their research assignments, articles, dissertations or theses.

You need to hand in your writing in progress at least 24 hours beforehand to allow time for the consultant  to analyse your work and prepare developmental feedback on your research writing.

You will then meet the tutor to discuss your writing and to be given specific guidance on which areas to improve on.

Online feedback and consultations are offered for postgraduates who are not on campus or cannot meet face-face.

Please note that this is not a proofreading service. The consultant will not correct your work.
