Institutional Student ePioneer Partnerships (InStePP) is a JISC-funded project supported by the Developing Digital Literacies programme. The project will build on the Brookes strategic approach to developing the digital capabilities of our students and staff and will complement, inform and support the large-scale, institution-wide initiative instigated by the Brookes Strategy for Enhancing the Student Experience 2010-2015 (SESE) and associated Programme (PESE), the commitment by the PVC (Student Experience) to student engagement and implementation of the VLE upgrade to Moodle this summer (2012).
Student partnerships will offer a way to join up provision for digital literacies for staff and students across the institution by establishing, supporting and building recognition for the role of student ‘ePioneers’ within existing core academic and e-learning development activities. The InStePP project complements many of the PESE’s 14 projects as it aims to develop, implement, evaluate and produce evidence-based examples of effective partnerships that enhance the student experience and yield benefits to staff’s own digital literacies in participating in them. By enabling the creation and integration of active partnerships with students in a variety of roles, the InStePP project will not only help students as agents of change to develop and enhance their personal and leadership attributes for employability but also help Brookes meet the commitments in the SESE in both digital literacies and student engagement.
