The aim of the Seeking Bridges Research Network is to seek to establish some fruitful communication between scholars such as anthropologists engaged in the study of the arts and cultures of Indigenous/ Native/ Aboriginal peoples, and Indigenous scholars who specialise in the reclamation and study of their own traditional knowledge and world views within the context of contemporary life. This research network was set up following a workshop at Headington Hill Hall, Oxford Brookes University, in June 2009, when those delegates present (see Background for more detail) agreed that it would be good to put on record some of our presentations, and to continue our deliberations about how better to communicate in the future.
